INSPIRED BY INTERIORS Lecture

Join Hitomi & Per as they co-demonstrate in this 3-hour dual lecture, exploring how interiors inspire new structure-building mechanics and design techniques. Students will engage in an in-depth discussion on the topic and how it applies to floral design, from everyday arrangements to large-scale installations. Per & Hitomi will also introduce the ‘Inspired by Interiors’ student assignment during this lecture.

INSPIRED BY INTERIORS Mentor Session with Per Benjamin

Join Per Benjamin in this 90-minute lesson as he expands on the topic of ‘Inspired by Interiors’ and how his observations apply to floral design. Students will learn how Per looks to interior spaces for inspiration, from creating structure-driven designs influenced by architectural elements to applying an interior-inspired mindset to floral arrangements.

with Hitomi Gilliam

Join Hitomi Gilliam in this 90-minute lesson as she expands on the topic of ‘Inspired by Interiors’ and how her observations apply to floral design. Students will learn how Hitomi looks to interior spaces for inspiration, from creating structure-driven designs influenced by architectural elements to applying an interior-inspired mindset to floral arrangements.

March 30th & 31st
INSPIRED BY INTERIORS Live Student Review with Per & Hitomi

Students will have the opportunity to complete the ‘Inspired by Interiors’ Student Assignment and in (2) separate Zoom Sessions receive live, one-on-one feedback from both Hitomi & Per.  There will also be an opportunity for students to submit for written feedback if they encounter a scheduling conflict.

April 8th, 2025 @ 9AM PST
INSPIRED BY VENUES Mentor Session
with Per Benjamin

Join Per Benjamin as we shift to finding inspiration through the diverse and dynamic world of venues! Students will enjoy this 90-minute lesson as Per explores how venues influence floral design, from grand ballrooms to rustic barns and modern spaces. He will discuss how to tailor floral arrangements to complement the architecture, atmosphere, and unique characteristics of each venue, using structure-building techniques and the elements and principles of design to create cohesive, impactful designs.

with Hitomi Gilliam

Join Hitomi Gilliam in this 90-minute lesson as she expands on the topic of ‘Inspired by Venues’ and how different event spaces influence her floral design. Students will learn how Hitomi draws inspiration from the unique architecture, ambiance, and character of wedding and event venues to inform her techniques, mechanics, and color palettes. She will discuss how to design florals that enhance and complement a venue’s atmosphere, whether it’s a grand ballroom, an intimate garden, or a modern industrial space. Hitomi will also introduce the ‘Inspired by Venues’ student assignment during this mentor session, with a student review occurring on 04/29.

INSPIRED BY VENUES Live Student Review with Per & Hitomi

INSPIRED BY VENUES Final Lecture

Join Hitomi & Per as they co-demonstrate in another the final 3hr dual lecture to close out Floristic Dialog LEVEL UP.  In this lecture, they will elaborate and further discuss how venues influence all aspects of floral design and how you can tailor floral arrangements to different event spaces. Students will enjoy an in-depth discussion on the topic and explore how understanding a venue’s architecture, ambiance, and style can elevate floral compositions. This session will highlight how looking to external influences, such as venue aesthetics and spatial dynamics, can consistently and constantly level up your design skills!
